An important choice

Everyday as Americans, we are faced with choices. Some choices are easier than others and most wont matter tomorrow anyway. Today for some reason I thought about the most simple and pointless choice so far today, and believe it or not, you've already made several by the time you make it to work.

Two lane roads make it difficult to decide which lane to pick. If you're turning from the left lane eventually but the left lane has 6 more cars in it, you have the option to hop in the right lane and try and get past a few of those people. Most people, depending on their personality, would have no hesitation to get in the shorter lane, even if they will be turning from the other one. Today I had the option to get behind a crappy Cavalier or a school bus. After driving on this road for several months, you learn that school buses may actually be the best alternative. I have a thing against crappy cars and the Cavalier is top of the list, right next to most saturn's (there are a few exceptions however).

Anyway, I chose the cavalier since I was turning from that lane in a few lights and they immediately let me down, I thought to myself, I made the wrong choice. Turns out there was a right choice. After seeing that the Cavalier was slowing down to make a turn but was still ahead of the bus, I moved over in front of the bus, passed the cavalier and still made it to the next light to make a left.

I wish all choices were like this, simple and easily fixed, turns out, life doesnt work that way. This choice had no bearing on my life, and I will probably forget this soon. At least until the next time it happens.
